Simple Selfcare program

SIMPLE SELFCARE

Finding strength & balance in challenging times.

Three weeks of movement & mindfulness to reset, reconnect and nurture greater balance.

Bite-size, doable tools to nourish your mind, body and heart… Because you matter too!

In times of high stress or demand it's all too easy to sideline the things that keep us sane, strong and wholehearted. We all know the mental blocks - feeling that other priorities (and people) must come first - or that there simply isn't time. And yet, it's a commitment to selfcare that will see us through the tough times.

The Simple Selfcare Program incorporates bite-size yoga and mindfulness sessions plus other quick, daily tools to calm the nervous system and provide a little soul nourishment. You'll come away with tools to reconnect with your body, pause, recalibrate and make space for YOU.

The program includes:

  • 1 pre-recorded yoga class per week (20-30 minutes in length)

  • 1 live mindfulness/meditation session per week - with conversation and catch-up at the end. Wednesdays 6:15pm (also recorded for access later)

  • Quick, body-based tools to regulate the nervous system, which you can do anytime throughout your day. (Reset buttons!)

  • Weekly journaling prompt to tune into your needs and to identify doable actions that support your wellbeing and reconnect with heart and soul.

  • BONUS - For the duration of the program you’ll have free access to Uschi’s regular live, online yoga class on Tuesday evenings, 5:30 - 6:30pm.

We’ve aimed to make it as accessible and doable as possible! Either tune in live, or listen to the recorded sessions.

Cost:

$33 for the three week program. (3 yoga classes, 3 mindfulness sessions, journaling prompts and short instructional clips for daily stress reduction techniques.)

Dates & times:

Start date: Wednesday 19th August - first live mindfulness session.

Duration: three weeks.

  • Live meditation/mindfulness and conversation - Wednesdays 6:15pm - 7:00pm

  • All other materials accessible any time (pre-recorded yoga, journal prompts and short body-based tools to calm and centre)

About the facilitator:

Uschi Steedman is a yoga and pilates teacher, groupwork facilitator and inspiration agent with an abiding belief in the innate wisdom and creative power within each of us. Through her classes, workshops and one-on-one sessions she supports others to rediscover their aliveness, connect with their passion and feel at home in their bodies and lives.

Do I have time?

Yes you absolutely do!

  • The pre-recorded yoga sessions are only 20-30 minutes in length and you can do them whenever it suits you.

  • The weekly, live mindfulness call is just 45 minutes in total - and will also be recorded so you can access it later.

  • The body-based tools and strategies will be introduced via short clips each week and take only a few seconds to a few minutes to complete. You can use them multiple times a day to help regulate your nervous system.

  • The journaling prompts are short, sharp and punchy - but will help you to access your inner wisdom, clarify your needs and boundaries, and nurture your sense of vitality and joy.

Time for you. Space for you... Because we have to pour love in, before we can pour love out.

Do I need any experience in yoga or meditation?

Absolutely not. The yoga classes and the mindfulness sessions are suitable for complete beginners and those who have practiced yoga asana or meditation for some time. Uschi's yoga classes also integrate elements of pilates for a sense of strength and groundedness, and the mindfulness sessions will incorporate other tools and strategies that draw on neuroscience and understandings of the autonomic nervous system. So we reckon there'll be something for everyone!

Do I need any equipment?

Yes. Optimally you'll have a yoga mat. And it's a bonus if you have a yoga strap (but a towel or belt can do too).

You'll also need a notebook or journal.
